📖 The Story of Utpanna Ekadashi
Utpanna means 'born' or 'originated' - this commemorates the birth of Ekadashi Devi. When the demon Mura terrorized the universe, Lord Vishnu fought him for a thousand years. While the Lord rested, a divine female emerged from His body and killed Mura. Lord Vishnu named her Ekadashi and granted that whoever fasts on this day would be freed from all sins. This is considered the mother of all Ekadashis.
